Ghosts, swordfights, men in tights - this hit US comedy has it all!

Life is not going well for LA TV star Andrew Rally. His popular medical drama has been cancelled, his girlfriend is clinging to her virginity, and he’s accidentally bought a medieval duplex in New York. Andrew has, however, been offered the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. The only problem is, he hates Hamlet…

Andrew’s duplex turns out to be the former home of the renowned actor John Barrymore – the greatest Hamlet of all time. The ghost of Barrymore returns to help Andrew prepare for the role, whether he likes it or not, as the only way to send Barrymore back to the Other Side is for Andrew to play Hamlet. Barrymore, fortified by champagne and ego, forces Andrew to decide what he really wants from his acting career.

Directed by Zoë Chandler & produced by Joan Nordlund.

Featuring Stina Halmetoja, Christian Jull, Daniel McMullen, Pauliina Munukka, Anna Rawlings and Paul Savage.

Nelson Remembered

Nelson Remembered

Nelson Remembered
in Pictures, Words and Sound
by George Fleming
Directed by Christian Jull

Through the use of spoken word, pictures and sound, the story of Vice Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson KB, Britain’s most famous military hero, is told in this entertaining and historically accurate presentation. Covering all of the major events in Nelson’s forty-six years, the story, inevitably, digresses into such fascinating byways as the life of Emma Hamilton and the character of the Georgian Navy. The end result is a story that tells us about the great man himself, how his contemporaries saw him, and how his life was shaped and immortalised.

Readers: Christian Jull, Christopher Sloan, Zoë Chandler, Anna Rawlings, Stewart Gray, Niko Lindell

Single Bride

Single BrideThis spring, the Players will be staging the brand-new comedy Single Bride.

What do you do if your boyfriend won’t propose? If you’re Scarlett, you decide to have a single wedding!

But her plans go wrong from the start. She accidentally ends up with her boring, bossy colleague as bridesmaid. Her father is recovering from a stroke and her mother is coping the only way she knows how: by trying to ruin and upstage her daughter’s plans.

Scarlett’s boyfriend wants nothing to do with any of her nonsense, but ends up being dragged out on a surprise stag night by Scarlett’s mollycoddled brother.

We follow their stories through the disastrous stag and hen nights, and on to the wedding ceremony itself…

We have a theatre - but no play!

Next spring's production is in jeopardy

We have Tunturikadun vieräilunäyttömö (previously Puoli.Q) booked from the 17th-29th April, but no firm proposal for a main spring production. If we still have nothing by the AGM, we may have to cancel the spring production, which would be a great shame following our 30th anniversary year.

If you have an idea (that you are willing to direct), then please contact the committee ASAP. We have people willing to help bring your vision to life, but need to have proposals by the 15th January, with an approval and auditions held before the AGM on the 28th January.

So, now is the time to ask not what the Players can do for you, but what you can do for the Players!
