Attention all directors, past and future! (2011)

Dear People Who Direct Plays (or have directed plays),

As a member of our mailing list, you are invited to consider directing a play this Autumn. We have a theatre, we have willing and very capable actors, and we are looking to offer all the support you need to direct a play with the Finn-Brit Players.

Why are we asking? Because we don't have a director.
Who is eligible? Well... someone who can direct, and brings along a play of their choosing.
Any limitations? Yes... the director will be invited to chat about the play with some of the Finn-Brit Players Committee to see if everything is ok. The stage is not too big - so you won't have to stress about a huge set and furniture moving.

If you had the right support and a great cast, would you be interested?

Please let us know by June 30th, and you can start rehearsals in August. Lights up on the following dates: November 5th - 8th, 12th, and 13th.

Proposal deadline for the 2011 autumn production

Do you have a play in mind you wish to see staged? KokoTeatteri has been booked 5–8 and 12–13 November and we are looking for a production and director to fill it.

If anyone is interested in directing it, we are considering staging the recent hit 'Bride of Christ' ('Kristuksen Morsian', 2010), written by Heini Junkkaala, translated by David Hackston. But all other proposals are very welcome. Please fill in a proposal and submit it to the committee by 29th May. See the following web page for more details:

You can submit a proposal for a small production, event, workshop, anytime, simply by dropping us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Proposals or draft proposals for smaller or later productions are welcome as well any time!

The Finn-Brit Players are teaming up with Luckan to bring an exciting evening of Harold Pinter to the theatre goers of Helsinki with their production of Pinteresque.

This vibrant collaboration promises a mixture of some of Pinter’s shorter plays and dialogues, forming a performance that is sure to offer something for everyone. The compelling cocktail of laughter, sentiment, relationships and politics will be served with explorations of unique staging and some surprises along the way.

Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot

The Finn-Brit Players present Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett

Starring: Anna Rawlings, Fionna O’Sullivan, Christian Jull, Daniel McMullen and Tuuli Tahko.
Directed by Adrian Goldman
Produced by Fionna O’Sullivan

Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, a seminal work of the 20th century, concerns two tramps, Didi and Gogo, waiting for … in a
post-apocalyptic world. It is a work suffused with cruelty and laughter – laughter at them, at the human condition. In it, “nothing happens – twice”. And yet it couldn’t be more riveting.
